Wold & Wheel began with one man, one much-loved Land Rover, and a simple belief: that the best way to see the Northern Cotswolds is slowly, from an open, unhurried classic, with someone who knows the way at the wheel.
Meet Phil
Phil has been fascinated by classic and vintage vehicles for as long as he can remember. There is something about older cars - the character, the craftsmanship, the way they make you slow down and enjoy the journey - that a modern vehicle simply cannot match.
Having settled in the Northern Cotswolds, Phil fell for the region the way so many visitors do: the honey-stone villages, the winding lanes, the quiet corners you only find if you know where to look. Wold & Wheel is his way of bringing those two passions together, and sharing the place he loves with the people who come to see it.
You will find Phil at the wheel of every tour, happy to take the scenic route, stop for a better view, or point you towards the pub the guidebooks miss.

Our tours take place in a classic 1971 Land Rover Series 2a, a true British icon built for adventure. With its rugged character, elevated seating and open views, it’s the perfect vehicle for exploring the Northern Cotswolds. Touring in our Series 2a isn’t just transport; it’s part of the experience.
With its rugged ‘patina’ paintwork, bench-style seating and seat belts for all, plus thoughtful touches like umbrella holders, a cool box, cutlery set, picnic mat and a Marshall Emberton III speaker, all under a brand new canvas roof, she is ready for hot summer days and sheltered against the elements in winter.

Most days you will find us out on tour, sharing the honey-stone villages, green lanes and long views of the Northern Cotswolds from the back of the Land Rover.
