Our flagship day and the best possible introduction to the Northern Cotswolds. A full, unhurried day taking in honey-stone villages, long views and a few famous names, with time to linger, take photographs and stop for a pint, all from the back of our 1971 Land Rover.

Phil and the Land Rover
Founder Phil is at the wheel of every tour, happy to take the scenic route, stop for a better view, or point you to the pub the guidebooks miss.
You will ride in our 1971 Land Rover Series 2a: bench seating with seat belts for all, a canvas roof, and umbrellas, a cool box and a Marshall speaker on board. Slow, characterful, and built for exactly this.

Is the tour private?
More often than not, yes. Tours are booked per person, so on a busier date another couple may join you, though with only six seats aboard it stays a small and unhurried group either way. We will let you know if anyone else books onto your date.
How much walking is involved?
The day is about the drive and the stops, so you are on your feet only as much as you like when we pause in each village.
Where do tours start?
We are based in Charlbury in the Northern Cotswolds, with a direct rail line from London Paddington. We collect you from Charlbury station, or from where you are staying nearby.
What happens if it rains?
The Land Rover has a canvas roof, so you are covered, and we carry umbrellas. A bit of British weather is no problem, and tours run all year round.
Can we bring drinks?
Cold and soft drinks are welcome on board, and there is a cool box for the day. You will also find a complimentary can of Blenheim Palace water waiting for you.
