Stow on the Wold

Stow has been a market town for a thousand years, and it still feels like one - a wide square ringed by honey stone inns, antique shops and cafés. It is a stop on our Classic Full Day Tour, with time to wander.

Round the back of St Edward’s Church you will find the famous yew-flanked wooden door, said to have inspired Tolkien’s Doors of Durin. Most visitors never find it. We will point you straight to it.
